SS - What inspired you to pursue a career in modeling?
LV - ooh! The absolute best thing about my career and the thing that keeps me going is definitely the creative aspect behind the shoots. I have a lot of appreciation for creatives and the work that they put in behind the scenes.
SS - Can you describe your typical day as a fashion model in Brisbane?
LV - My typical day hmm. When I’m not in studio or somewhere on location, my days off consist of a big morning walk, a pilates class and catching up with my besties, creating content, doing some housework and keeping up with my uni! there’s always something on the to do list. I try to make time for myself between all the chaos. I love it.
SS - What are some of the biggest challenges you've faced in the modeling industry?
LV - I feel like you really need to be super confident and secure in yourself. It gets hard and lonely sometimes. I used to take rejection so personally but once you realise that it's not the case, it makes the job a whole lot easier. Rejection > Redirection.
SS - How do you stay fit and maintain your look?
LV - Besides eating clean & always being super hydrated, I make sure to fit in daily movement. As long as you feel good that is all that matters, as it shows! I have monthly facials at Glo Haus and a consistent skincare routine. Its also so important to know everyone is different and what works for me might not work for others and vice versa.
SS - What are some of your favorite fashion brands or designers?
LV - Ooohhhh I am definitely a Miu Miu girl! But some favorites are The Frankie Shop, Ganni, Reformation and I love having a look through Revolve if i'm stuck on what to buy. I love fun jewellery and accessories. You’ll often find me in boyfriend jeans, a white tee, cute bag and funky accessories to give it a zhuzh.
SS - How do you prepare for a photoshoot or a runway show?
LV - The night before a photoshoot I make sure to have a nutrient dense meal and a peppermint tea for digestion. I am not a morning person - at all - so before early call times rest assured my snooze button has been hit a few times and I'm out the door with a banana in one hand and an extra strong oat cap in the other.
SS - What has been your most memorable modeling experience so far?
LV - Probably my first Times Square billboard! I was in highschool and did the global Swatch Campaign. My mum was in NYC with her friend and they drove past it one night on their way to dinner. She sent me a photo super surprise as I didn’t tell anyone! 17 year old me thought that was soooo cool haha.
SS - How do you balance your personal life with the demands of your modeling career?
LV - Ooh this is hard. The key is to have understanding, low maintenance friends. I definitely make sure to make time for the important people in my life. It gets hard at times but I have a beautiful and supportive partner and friends, and that makes everything better.
SS - What advice would you give to aspiring models in South Africa or Australia?
LV - Being unique is soooo cool! Stop worrying about what people think and always be polite & respectful. Somedays are better than others so make sure to remember your “why” and be consistent with everything you do.
SS - What are your goals and aspirations for the future of your modeling career?
LV - I’m so proud of myself to have ticked off a few goals at a young age and always so grateful for all the opportunities that come my way! I’d love to do some stints in overseas in the next few years and work with some bucket list clients. What’s meant to be will be! X
